Religious tolerance in Bengali community ensures communal harmony as well. A In West Bengal one can find some of the best luxury and heritage hotels like ITC Sonar or Windermere, but West Bengal can accommodate you against 300 rupees per night as well. You can take your breakfast like a prince or lunch like a king at Flury’s or Zarang, but if you like, you can dine like popper at 20 rupees at a shack on Sudder Street too! You will have the choice of traveling by a Toyota Camri indeed, but enormous options of buses, trains and share jeeps will allow you travel in a shoestring also. In a brief, high end tours are easily available in West Bengal, but those are not compulsive for a tourist. Backpackers are always at home here.

Q Which is the best time to explore West Bengal?

A Though one can travel in West Bengal almost throughout the year, but we think (apart from any special interest) the monsoon should be avoided. Further, West Bengal lies on the Gangetic plains, its weather is humid and the average annual temperature is no less than 22 d Celsius. Naturally October to march is the most comfortable stretch for an extensive tour. But definitely for an wildlife tourist March to May will be the best season, particularly for the sighting.
